Oaxaca Red Clay Pottery Mujeres Del Barro Rojo made by the Zapotec women
A contemporary style of red clay, or barro rojo, handcrafted by a cooperative of women in San Marcos, Tlapazola, Oaxaca. Every piece is shaped by hand, and finished with a red clay slip which creates a uniquely textural finish.
The women-led cooperative, known worldwide as Mujeres del Barro Rojo (women of the red clay), was founded by Macrina Mateo Martinez.
