We’d spent the day shopping. We’d spent every day shopping—which is what you do when you own a shop in New York and look to fill it with the most exquisite goods.
The initial pull to Paris was Maison & Objet, a decor, design, and lifestyle trade show. We hit that hard, as we do, and were done in a day.
Then we ate and shopped our way through Paris!
Day 1—Montmartre
Before you head up to this charming part of Paris with cobblestone streets and musicians playing in café courtyards, stop at Louise Paris to buy yourself the cutest little vintage outfit! We did.
Once outfitted, head to Hotel Particulier Montmartre for the most fabulous cocktails. (Be sure to reserve ahead of time if you'd like to stay for dinner.)

We managed to fit in many bites on Rue Saint Maur, where we shared small plates at Le Servan—
—and the best sandwiches of our life at Yemma Office!
Day 2—Maison & Objet
Great furniture leads for the shop, more to come on this front soon!
Day 3—Paris Flea Market in Saint-Ouen
An antique and flea market dream—jam-packed with hundreds of independent vendors in a very walkable area. There are guides if you’re interested, starting at 30 euro. We opted to hit it hard on our own, letting our eyes and our instincts guide us. We found stunning light fixtures, often vintage Italian, delicate glassware, art, brass work—so much. If you love the meandering hunt, this is the place. La Creme for coffee.
Day 4—Marché aux Puces de la Porte de Vanves
Flea market on the edge of Paris, good early Sunday morning. You never know what you'll find. We found art!
Open every weekend from ~7 AM to 1 PM. Be sure to get there early, when we arrived, many vendors had already packed up.
Days 5—Shop Ailleurs to Rue Debelleyme
Walk over to my favorite shop of the trip, Ailleurs—a fabulous home decor store with an enchanting little courtyard.
Eat steak tartare at Cafe Bistrot Paul Bert (recommended by our waitress at Le Servan).
Shop the many boutiques along Rue Debelleyme and eat your cheese heart out at Les Petits Crus, where wine was paired with perfection! (TIP: Don't share, it's too confusing, everyone there should get their own.)
Day 6—Saint-Germain-des-Prés
From Rue Jacob to Rue de Beaunne—spend hours walking these small streets teaming with treasures—it's where Britt found the art of her dreams at L'Atelier 55, her favorite shop in Paris!
Sounds like a wonderful trip to a most fabulous city. As for the syrup call being the only one – that’s pretty great! Well done, Family:)
Your Paris blog is charming and interesting! I can’t wait to go to Paris someday and your notes make it sound do-able and fun ! PS that cheese presentation platter looks yummy! I’ll go there for sure!
